The winner of the HomeByMe January Project of the Month contest is – Chaufunkwan! Congratulations for solving a tricky puzzle! OK, you have two adults, a young adult and 51 m² (550 ft²) to make a comfortable home. The space is definitely on the tricky side with lots of interesting angles and nooks and crannies. That’s a challenge that Chaufunkwan has handled quite neatly with this apartment home 25F. With an unconventional mix of classic and contemporary furniture it all works out in a way that looks comfortable and easy to live with. The shelves of books alone makes me want to stay and visit. Usually, interesting people have interesting books.
A 3D image showing the overall layout, with the entrance door marked by the blue arrow will help you quickly orient yourself. Or, spot the comfy Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman or the green-backed dining chairs and go from there. This is also the best view to see the many angles that make the space so challenging.
Use the 360° view for more 3D info. Just left click and hold as you move around.
Just to the right of the bouquet of roses is the entrance door. A vertical divider helps break up the space and provides more storage on each side.
The kitchen is a great one wall solution with a big window in the middle which gives more light and a feeling of more space. There’s space for laundry and more storage right through the glass door.
Look to the left and you’ll find the dining and living rooms. The big double windows are the focus of the entire space. Through the door on the left is where you’ll find the bathroom and bedrooms.
More big windows brighten the whole space. Want a bath or a shower? Take your pick.
What a great bunk bed/desk arrangement with a wall of windows for a ton of sunlight.
In the master bedroom the bed and much of the storage space is on a raised platform. There’s even a bump out with space for a writing desk. Big corner windows keep the room bright. The green chairs are a unifying element and can help out in the kitchen when needed.
Back out in the family area. The old style refrigerator mixes easily with the newer elements.
This is the comfy area for your choice of entertainment and relaxation. You can sit back, stretch out and feel right at home!
Now then, which of those books gets the first look?
