This tutorial walks you through two simple methods to build curved walls seamlessly into your project.
Creating a Curved Wall from Two Straight Walls
If you’re starting from scratch, the first method involves drawing two straight walls at a right angle, then generating a curved transition between them. Begin by drawing the first wall, then add a second one perpendicular to it. Once both walls are in place, click on the first wall, hold down the Ctrl key (on Windows) or Cmd key (on Mac), and select the second wall. A curved wall icon will appear at the junction. Simply click it, and HomeByMe will automatically generate a perfectly curved wall connecting the two.
Once the curve is in place, you’re free to customize it like any other wall in HomeByMe—apply the material, paint, or surface finish that best fits your design.
Rounding an Existing Corner
In situations where you want a softer, smaller curve—such as at a tight corner or hallway—the process is just as straightforward. Start by splitting each of the two connecting walls. Double-clicking on a wall will automatically divide it into two segments. Repeat this for the adjacent wall.
Then, select the two segments that meet at the corner, again holding down Ctrl or Cmd as you click. A curved-wall icon will once again appear between them. Click this icon to instantly round the angle with a subtle, integrated curve.
This method is perfect for adding a smoother transition without altering the entire structure of your walls. You still have full control over the finishes and dimensions of the curved segment.
Fine-Tune the Curve
