Please join us in congratulating Midau for winning the HomeByMe December Project of the month with the project AMILLY! Let’s send up the mini photo quadricopter and take a peek in from above. It’s a good way to get an idea of the overall layout, especially where the doors are that guide the flow through the home.
Looking at the 2D floor plan we can see that the layout is a pleasing intersection of two rectangles that nicely divide the space into private areas in one wing on the left (small vertical arrow) and social areas in the right wing (small horizontal arrow). As soon as you enter the house (big vertical arrow) you have the choice to go to either wing.
When you move into the social spaces you’ll find yourself in a great open area with the living room and a view of the patio in one direction.
And in the other direction you’ll see the dining area and the nice kitchen with a counter for a quick meal or conversing with whoever is doing the cooking. Notice the theme of browns combined with appropriate yellows and just a dash of a complementary color to liven things up. Here the little blue table does the job. We’ll be seeing this throughout the home.
Each room is furnished with a restrained touch as shown in the smaller of the bedrooms. Once again the theme carries through with a green pillow and a little blue in the painting to brighten the warm neutral colors.
This good-sized home office with a patio view would be a pleasant place for work or play.
The master bedroom is plenty big and looks quite comfortable. The long, low dressers and seating area make the room seem even bigger.
To reach the master bathroom just take a left from the bedroom through the dressing area.
This view also shows how well the overall floor plan works. The inside entertainment areas smoothly blend into the outside spaces for even more fun. I sure hope they invite me to their next gathering!
Now it’s your turn!
